On Friday 22nd November, Repertory Invercargill gratefully received a record-breaking total of 19 nominations for next year's Otago and Southland Theatre Awards (OSTAs) award ceremony in February at Balclutha. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to the success of these productions. Repertory Invercargill appreciate all the hours of participation and passion by our volunteers who continually promote the society and create memorable theatrical events for the Invercargill and Southland public.
Our March production of The Pink Hammer received 8 Nominations including Best Direction for Aimee Marshall and acting nods for Graham Pirie, Lyndal Ludlow, and Maggie Pirie. Our August production of Eurydice received a total of 11 Nominations including Best Direction for Pip Smith and acting nods to Jack Gilmore, Neil McDonald, Danny Dukenfield, and Victoria Morgan.
A special mention must be made of Lydia Blomfield who received two OSTA nominations for Best Leading Female in a Play for both The Pink Hammer and Eurydice, a remarkable achievement. Lydia has been an active member both onstage, offstage has been a true ambassador for the society over recent years. For the fourth year in a row, Malcolm McDonald, Kevin Marshall and team have once again been nominated for best set and this year for both productions.
This year the OSTAs introduced a brand-new category of Best Overall Play, and both The Pink Hammer and Eurydice were also nominated for this OSTA first! Full list of nominations attached below.
