When four women sign up for a carpentry workshop and arrive to find Maggie, the tutor, has absconded with their fees, they are left with Woody, her disgruntled husband who is not pleased to have his man cave invaded. Annabel, Louise, Helen and Siobhan persuade Woody to run the course. His neatly ordered sanctuary will never be the same. And neither will they.
